John Kovesdy

* Over 25 years of experience playing beach volleyball

* Coached youth sports for over 10 years

* Head Coach for Yuma's only Boy's competitive indoor volleyball team.

"Beach volleyball has always been my passion and a source of joy and rejuvenation. After moving to Yuma nearly 10 years ago, I quickly realized the sport wasn’t as popular here, likely due to the lack of good facilities. However, with the recent upgrades to the Kennedy sand courts, we now have a fantastic opportunity to build a vibrant beach volleyball community in Yuma. I’m excited to help anyone interested in getting out on the sand and enjoying the game like I do!"

"As a former college volleyball player and current travel indoor volleyball coach, I bring a wealth of experience to the sand. My coaching focuses on skill development, mental toughness, and fostering a love for the game. I create a supportive, personalized environment where players can grow, excel, and achieve their goals. "I have played volleyball for over 25 years now. Playing the game in the sand has always been one of my most happy places. After I moved to Yuma about a decade ago, from Phoenix, it didn't take long to notice the sand volleyball community in Yuma is limited. This surprised me considering our neighbors in SoCal have one of the largest beach volleyball communities in the world, if not the largest. The biggest challenge we have faced in Yuma, has been adequate facilities to play the game safely. With the recent upgrades to the sand courts at Kennedy, an opportunity to start organizing leagues and tourneys was presented. With more organized opportunities I am hoping that more people find their way into the sand to see for themselves how great the game is and why I love it so much."
